Selangor, 20 May 2018 (Sunday) – Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) in collaboration with NOAH FOUNDATION organised the Raya Shopping Spree with Madrasah Hashimiah Kids, at Mydin’s Wholesale Hypermarket Store, USJ Subang Jaya.
The aim of the Programme is to give the less fortunate children at Madrasah Hashimiah a special treat in the form of a “Shopping Excursion” for their new Raya attire. Madrasah Anak-anak Yatim dan Tahfiz Quran Hashimiah is the school for Orphans and Tahfiz Quran, under the purview of Ustaz Al-Hafiz Hashim bin Kassim, who is the Founder and Principal of the school. There were a total of 220 children joining this year’s shopping spree.
The shopping spree started at 8.30 am and ended at 1.30 pm. The programme received a total of 220 volunteers; 100 consists of UNIRAZAK staff and students, 75 from the Noah family, and 45 from among friends. Each volunteer was assigned one kid per adult from Madrasah Hashimiah to assist them in buying new Hari Raya attire and necessities.
Noah Foundation was the main sponsor for the Raya Shopping Spree, spending a total sum of RM44,000.00. Each child received an allocation of RM200.00 for their shopping session. In addition, Mydin Holdings Bhd on the other hand gave a special discount for the items purchased in supporting the event.
Special guests attended this event was Dato’ Mohammad Rhiza Ghazi, (Alternate) Trustee of Noah Foundation, Encik Amil Hamzah, Chief Executive Officer of UNIRAZAK, and Ustaz Al-Hafiz Hashim bin Kassim, Founder of Madrasah Hashimiah.
According to Encik Amil, this event has been successfully conducted for the 4th time since 2015. He conveyed his thanks to Yayasan Noah which has been the main sponsor and hope that this event would continue for the following years.
