The professional Education Programme (PEP) by UNIRAZAK is introduced as a platform to support PNB’s mobility scheme. Under this programme, non-executive staff will undergo a systematic and structured learning process leading to a professional diploma qualification in Business Administration.

The benefits of PEP can be seen from two perspectives – that of the employee, and that of the employer.
For employees, PEP helps them keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date. It also ensures that the professional standard of their qualifications is enhanced. Furthermore, it contributes to their professional sense of direction. Completing PEP helps build their confidence and credibility, allows them to showcase their achievements and equips them with tools to cope positively with change.
For employers, the primary benefit of PEP is ensuring that standards across the company are high and consistent. PEP also promotes greater work engagement from the workforce and general commitment to job roles. Having a number of employees, particularly those without tertiary education undertake PEP, whether concurrently or over a period of time, allows for the sharing of best practice and support. PEP also contributes to maximising staff potential, improves staff morale and provides a useful mechanism for career development and succession planning.
Professional Education Programme (PEP) is a process to develop and maintain the knowledge, skills and values, ethics and attitudes relevant for employees to succeed in the current dynamic and demanding business environment. PEP is also a way forward to ensure personal career development through more advanced learning activities for career development and progression.
Specifically, the objectives of PEP are:
- To support future professional development with enhancing and broadening capabilities.
- Develops personal qualities necessary to execute professional and technical duties in an ethical manner.

The Professional Education Programme (PEP) is designed on the basis to support PNB agenda on staff mobility scheme. Non-executive and no tertiary education staff will eventually be upgraded into executive level position by the year 2020. In achieving this agenda, the PEP programme should be designed by taking into consideration of the following features:
- A systematic and structured programme that incorporate a sufficient level of knowledge, skills and quality that correspond to the level of qualification awarded.
- A balanced input of theoretical and practical knowledge in the learning process and methodology.
- Focus specialisations that are able to support PNB core business and functions.
- A programme that provides progression into a higher level of qualifications.
The programme structure of the Professional Diploma in Business Administration consists of 3 parts, i.e. Core Modules, Specialised Modules, and Elective Modules (refer to Appendix 1).
The core modules consist of the following subjects:
- Principles of Economics
- Quantitative Methods
- Principles of Accounting
- Introduction to Business Ethics & Values
The main objective of the core modules is to strengthen the basic knowledge and understanding of the fundamental skills required to undertake this programme. At the same time, it is to reinforce the element of ethics and values to all participants.
The specialised modules are streamed into four disciplines namely:
- Customer Service Management
The selection of these specialisations is based on PNB’s core business and functions.
The elective modules consist of subjects in the following areas:
- Information Technology
- Business Law
The role of these elective modules is to complement participants’ skills to carry out their specialised functions.
Each module carries 3 credit hour value, and the total credit for this program is 30.
