  Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons) KPT/JPS (A7374) 12/11

The Bachelor of Software Engineering programme is offered to provide highly skilled graduates for software development industry. This programme is specially designed to give graduates a broad and well-balanced background of software development both theoretically and practically.

The programme focuses on all aspects of software development from the early phases of project planning and requirements analysis until the maintenance of software after its deployment. Additionally, the programme incorporates several other IT-related components such as networking and databases as well as business elements.

The potential graduates of this programme will be able to play a vital role in the software engineering field or any other related field and to work effectively in teams as members as well as leaders. Producing graduates with strong characters, technical skills, knowledge, good understanding of the role of software engineering in organizations and society, and who are capable of making proper decisions when needed are also among the reasons behind the design of this programme.

This programme is accredited by Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA/LAN) under accreditation (A 7374).


  • Pass STPM with 2 principals including Mathematics or pass in Computing subject or any other qualification that is recognized by the Malaysia government; or

  • Passed an IT, science or engineering course at Matriculation level, Foundation or Pre-U with a CGPA of 2.50 and above; or

  • Qualification in Computer Science or Engineering from IPTA or IPTS that has minimum standard or accreditation with minimum CGPA of 2.25 and above or a minimum of 2.0 with 2 years working in a relevant area; or

  • A Diploma in Computer Science that has minimum standard or accreditation with CGPA of 2.50 with 2 years experience in a relevant area;

* A credit in Mathematics at SPM level is required for all the above cases.


English Proficiency Requirement

Malaysian Students

Students who enroll into UNIRAZAK Bachelor's Degree programmes must fulfill the following English proficiency requirements:

  • Students who have a credit in the English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take additional English courses, depending on the level of proficiency.
  • Students who do not have a credit in the English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to undergo the Intensive English Programme.
  • Students who have a distinction in the English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are not required to take additional English courses.

Additional charges will be imposed based on the English placement level.

Intensive English Programme

International Students

International students who enrol into UNIRAZAK programmes must fulfil the following English proficiency requirements:

  • Undergraduate Programmes - TOEFL score of 450 or IELTS band of 4

The validity period for TOEFL and IELTS is two (2) years from the date of the award.

Without the qualification mentioned above, International students are required to register for and pass a special Intensive English Programme (IEP). This programme will incur additional charges.
