  Diploma in Computer Security KPT/JPS (KA 11319) 06/15

Diploma in Computer Security is offered to accept the challenge of new era of information technology and to support the national aspiration by providing employable and quality graduates sufficiently, hence to liberalize and democratize the education. This programme is aimed at producing information technologist in the field of computer security focusing on information security and computer forensics.

Computer security is concerned about the protection of information and property from theft, corruption or natural disaster while allowing the information and property to remain accessible and productive to its intended users. This programme will equip students with the knowledge and skills that will allow them to deal with computer security problems before and after they occur.

This programme is designed to provide broad-based learning on computing with emphasis on computer security. Essential information technology modules are taught to ensure students have a common knowledge of the digital tools that will be used to support their creative works. The curriculum of the program will provide the avenue for the students to progressively build their project portfolio.

The critical courses such as Information Security, Network Security, Computer Forensics, Internet Application Security, Secure Software Development, Computer Ethics and Cyber Laws and Information Systems Risk Management are provided as background knowledge to prepare the graduates to pursue further into professional certifications to increase employability for industrial needs.


  • Pass SPM/SPMV with 3 credits including subject Mathematics; or

  • Relevant certificate recognised by the Malaysian Government.; or

  • Other equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Malaysian Government.

English Proficiency Requirement

International students must possess the following minimum English Language proficiency requirement before being allowed to register for Faculty courses as listed in the respective programme structures: TOEFL score of 450 or IELTS band 4.

The validity period for TOEFL and IELTS is two (2) years from the date of the award.

Without such qualifications, international students are required to register for and pass the Intensive English Programme. This English programme will incur additional charges apart from the respective Programme Fee.
