XTREME INNOVATIVE CLUB LEARNING EXPERIENCE

SYED OMAR SYED AGIL

The case involves a newly established Xtreme Innovative Club of SOSA University. The members, led by the President, organized a fund-raising program to finance its activities. The club was setup to produce innovative and creative students who will produce commercialized products. This is parallel wit the government efforts to transform into a K-economy. However, as a result of being overzealous and too ambitious, they organized the program hurriedly without considering the procedures and policies outlined by the university. This led to the emergence of several ethical issues and unethical conduct resulting in a crisis. The case requires students to understand the philosophical and psychological theories in business ethics such as the Consequentialist, Deontologist and Virtue ethics and what ethical leadership means. Students will learn the importance of ethics in business, the consequences of not applying ethics; learn the theories of ethics and the application of ethical theories. This case can also be used by students taking courses on management where the principles of planning, staffing, monitoring and leading are taken into consideration.
