Universiti Gemilang (UGemilang), a private university, was facing difficulties in identifying potential students to lead its student representative council (SRC). Students were reluctant to participate in SRC as could be observed by the extremely low number of nominations and small number of voters who cast their votes during SRC elections. In other universities, particularly public universities, students were very keen to participate in their SRCs and any road campaigns were able to pull a big crowd. The case revolves around leadership issues in the university. How could the university renew the enthusiasm for student government?
